A woman has opened up about why being a woman isn't easy as she feels she's "judged" all the time.
Karina Irby is known for talking candidly about body image online. The 34-year-old, from Australia, shows how liberating it can be to show of your body by posting candid pictures on Instagram, but that doesn't mean her life is always easy.
She said she's constantly "judged, criticised and underestimated", and feels it's the same for other women too. The blonde beauty recently shared a candid video which highlighted various parts of her body - from her wobbly tummy to cellulite and body hair.
In a defiant post, she told people she's "just a girl", as she showed off the normal parts of the human body in a bid to normalise our so-called "imperfections".
Karina wrote: "We are expected to fit into certain molds and follow specific stereotypes. We are told to be quiet, obedient and submissive.
"But being a girl is also powerful. We are strong, resilient and capable of achieving anything we set our minds to. We are intelligent, compassionate and full of potential.
"It is time for us to break free from the constraints that society has placed upon us and embrace our true selves. We deserve to be seen, heard and respected for who we are."
Since Karina shared the post, it's been liked over 13,000 times, and her followers were quick to thank her for posting such positive content. People told the influencer she "inspires" them, and helps them to love themselves a little more each day.
One person said: "Absolutely 100% truth. You are a woman, not just a girl. You are absolutely beautiful and very smart. Don't follow what others think - you be you and stay classy."
Another wrote: "You're a strong woman and show others what true authenticity and beauty is." A third replied: "Karina you are such an inspiration. Thank you for always being authentically you."
Meanwhile, a third also said: "Just a girl. Also just another example of perfection."
Karina has garnered more than 1.1 million followers on Instagram by being so open about body image. But while many comments are supportive like the ones above, there are times she's faced criticism.
In recent months, trolls have sent vile messages to the content creator. While some have branded her "obese", others have made jibes about her decision not to have children.
Thankfully though, Karina doesn't let these keyboard warriors hold her back. She runs a successful bikini business and continues to inspire thousands on social media.
