A 15-year-old boy has died following a horror crash in a market town on Saturday.
A silver Ford Fiesta collided with a pedestrian in Andover, Hampshire, at around 6pm. He was taken to hospital, where police say he has since died of his injuries. A woman has been arrested on suspicion of driving whilst unfit through drugs.
A spokesperson for Hampshire Police said today: "The pedestrian was taken to hospital with life threatening injuries and has now sadly passed away. His family are being supported by specialist officers as detectives from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit continue to investigate the incident.
"As part of our enquiries the driver of the vehicle, a 29-year-old woman from Andover, has been arrested on suspicion of driving whilst unfit through drugs. She has been released from police custody but remains under investigation pending further enquiries.
"We are still appealing for any witnesses to please come forward and speak to police. Were you in the area at the time? Perhaps you were driving through the area and may have dash cam footage which captured something?

The tragedy, just days before Christmas, comes after a cyclist died in a crash in Solihull, West Midlands. Police continue to investigate the death of the 50-year-old man following the collision on Wagon Lane, a residential street.
Speaking last week, Ade Adeyemo, Liberal Democrat councillor for Lyndon Ward in the town, said: "My thoughts and condolences go out to the family and friends of the cyclist. Sadly, someone has lost their life today. We will be doing all we can to support their family and friends at this sad time."
