A firm run by Sir Captain Tom Moore's daughter Hannah Ingram-Moore has slipped into the red, documents show.

The blow came soon after it emerged she and her husband Colin were banned from being charity trustees. It followed irregularities in the way they were running The Captain Tom Foundation - which was set up in the lockdown hero's name. It has now been revealed that her consultancy company Whitaker Global Limited is £7,702 in debt for the 12 months to the end of January this year. It marks a drop from the outfit being £16,460 in the black in the previous 12 months, according to accounts she filed to Companies House last week.

Earlier this year her family was ordered to tear down the luxury spa built in the grounds of their £2.25 million home. Mr Ingram-Moore, 53, and her husband, 67, were told to demolish the facility for good after it was ruled that the outbuilding was erected illegally. The veteran's family later used his memory in an online advert for the home when they put it on the market for £2.25m. The listing included a photo of Captain Tom being knighted by the late Queen in 2020 for his NHS fundraising, in which he walked lengths of his garden to raise £39m.

In April they put the seven-bed former rectory in rural Marston Moretaine, Bedfordshire, up for sale but it has remained unsold and has now been removed from online listings. Captain Tom himself was a director of Whitaker Global when it was set up in January 2015 and was listed at Companies House as providing "management consultancy activities other than financial management', but he was removed from the position just two months later.

In August, books for the married couple's management consultancy firm Maytrix Group Ltd made grim reading. In 2022, the firm was valued at £170,333 but the figure for 2023 is just £5,384. The Maytrix Group took up to £100,000 in furlough money and £47,500 in Covid loans despite bumper profits during the pandemic. But new figures show less than £40,000 in the bank compared to almost £229,000. They also have a £57,000 tax bill.

In July Ms Ingram-Moore and her husband were disqualified as charity trustees after a Charity Commission probe. Her ban is for 10 years and her husband's is for eight years. The ruling said there has been "misconduct and/or mismanagement, the individuals are not fit to be a trustee or hold senior management functions".

The family said they "fundamentally disagree" with the ruling and described the ongoing inquiry as a "harrowing and debilitating ordeal". They said: "Failure to conclude the inquiry prolongs our distress. The process may have evolved into a relentless pursuit." The Captain Tom Foundation was set up after he died, aged 100, in 2021.
