An adoring husband has documented the painstaking task of renovating his wife’s 114-year-old childhood home as he restores it to its original beauty.
Dad-of-four Adam Miller, 36, bought the house his wife grew up last June for £380k and began restoring it for his spouse, Jessica, 32, and their sons to live in.
Adam, an entrepreneur and business owner, has gone to work on the house, tearing up floorboards, breaking down walls and completely updating the building – which he estimates has cost no less than £217k.
Nine months on and the dream home looks incredible, with a bright new look that screams ideal family home.
Adam even fought through a storm that destroyed parts of the roof, and has documented every aspect of the renovation on his viral TikTok page.
Adam said “I was able to put extra focus on the house because of being slow at our different businesses. It was a great way to not think about the outside world.
“We want this house to stay in our family for generations.
“We have invited the world into our home online and it has been incredible to share this experience and the kind words of strangers.
“We have people say they are inspired to do something now, and that’s an incredible reward for us!"
Jessica added: “I feel like we have listened to the house and given it life again and the character it deserves. It’s not just our story to preserve but the story of generations of families before us.”
The new pad has everything from a white veranda to fireplaces, polished banisters and stunning exposed wood floorboards.
The project has gone down a storm online, with some of Adam's DIY videos racking up 19 million hits.
Watchers have likened the home to the one from the 1995 Jumanji film and the property from Hollywood romance The Notebook.
One viewer raved: "It's an absolute dream home. Well done it's stunning."
While another wrote: "I love that it's modern but it still has that oldies vibe."
