A FLIRTATIOUS wife stabbed her husband to death then cut herself and claimed self- defence, a court heard.
Sharon Hodges, 41, allegedly knifed Philip Gibbs, 58, in the chest after he caught her half-naked talking to a male friend she had been out with all night.
Richard Smith, prosecuting, said the grandfather-of-five had “no chance”.
He added that phone records showed Hodges’ conversations were sexual in nature and said: “They were about a possible liaison.”
The pair met in 2008 after Mr Gibbs’ wife Sandra died. But things soured when she started drinking heavily, Bristol crown court heard.
Hodges, from Kewstoke, Somerset, denies murder.
The trial continues.
