The pilot of a Hunter Hawker jet which crashed during last year's Shoreham Air Show is being investigated for manslaughter after 11 men were killed.
Sussex Police confirmed that a 52-year-old man was notified in December that he is being investigated for possible endangerment and manslaughter by gross negligence.
Andy Hill was flying the vintage jet on August 22 last year when it crashed into the A27 in Shoreham, West Sussex.
Investigators said that air show organisers were not aware of the pilot's display plans before he attempted a loop-the-loop which lead to his Hunter Hawker jet crashing into oncoming traffic.
A Sussex Police spokesperson said: "Detectives investigating the circumstances of the crash of a Hunter fighter jet at Shoreham in August 2015, which killed 11 people, have confirmed that a 52-year-old man was notified in December that he is being investigated for possible endangerment pursuant to Article 138 Air Navigation Order 2009 and also manslaughter by gross negligence."
A hearing to decide if material relating to the Shoreham air crash can be released to Sussex Police will be heard next week at the High Court.
Hill miraculously survived the crash and and was released from hospital a month later.
The event will not go ahead this year.
