TWO men were yesterday convicted of stabbing to death a dad for his iPhone.
Michael Sexton, 28, and 27-year-old Richard Smith attacked Keith Soons with a screwdriver and left him in a pool of blood . They also took his wallet and a “Dad” ring.
The 36-year-old who had a baby girl aged eight months was found five hours later and died in hospital.
His partner Sam Ramsey wept as the thugs were found guilty of murdering Keith on February 3 in Cheltenham, Glos. After the verdicts at Bristol crown court, Detective Superintendent Simon Atkinson branded the killers “cold and callous”.
He added: “It meant a young man in the prime of his life was left to die on a cold back street, all for the sake of a mobile phone.”
Keith’s sister Tanya added: “We still cannot come to terms with his death.”
Smith and Sexton, both of Cheltenham, will be sentenced today.
