Giant West Indies all-rounder Rahkeem Cornwall blasted an unbeaten 205 off just 77 balls in a T20 match for Atlanta Fire in the Atlanta Open.

Cornwall jetted off to America shortly after starring for Barbados Royals in the Caribbean Premier League, smashing 242 runs and picking up seven wickets as his side made it all the way to the final before losing to Jamaica Tallawahs.

And Cornwall continued his good form for Atlanta, striking a whopping 22 sixes and 17 fours to help his side reach 326-1 from their 20 overs. 200 of his runs came in boundaries, meaning he only ran five of his 205.

Cornwall stands at 6ft 6ins and has been called the 'heaviest Test player ever' after weighing in at 22 stone when he featured against England in 2020.

Unsurprisingly, his efforts with the bat earned Atlanta Fire a comprehensive 172 run win over Square Drive Panthers.

USA international Steven Taylor also struck 53 off just 18 balls, while former Pakistan international Sami Aslam, who hopes to qualify to represent the USA in November 2023, struck an unbeaten 53 off 29 balls.

In response, Square Drive scored 154-8 from their 20 overs, with Yashwant Balaji top scoring with 38 off 22. $75,000 (£67,000) in prize money is on offer for the tournament's winners, along with $20,000 (£18,000) for the runner-up.

Among the other stars in action in Atlanta are former England all-rounders Samit Patel and Ravi Bopara. Kent star Alex Blake is part of Paramveers United, alongside Lancashire star Danny Lamb and West Indies stars Sherfane Rutherford and Jason Mohammed.

Fellow Kent star Daniel Bell-Drummond and West Indies big hitter Andre Fletcher are both featuring for Raiders Unlimited, while veteran county stalwart Darren Stevens and Pakistan left-armer Sohail Tanvir have both joined UMMC Knight Riders
