Wrexham striker Paul Mullin appeared to narrowly avoid biting an opponent as the Red Dragons lost 3-1 to Birmingham City.
On Monday night at St. Andrew's, Wrexham and Birmingham City met in a match dubbed the 'Hollywood derby' given the Red Dragon's links to Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney while Tom Brady has a minority stake in the Blues. It was the NFL star's side that secured bragging rights and three valuable points in a clash between two unbeaten League One teams.
Wrexham had taken the lead in the highly-anticipated clash between the two League One heavyweights, but Birmingham's talent prevailed in the end. Jack Marriott scored for Wrexham, capitalizing on an early corner within the first few minutes.

However, Birmingham retaliated when striker Jay Stansfield netted an equalizer 22 minutes in, making it 1-1 at halftime. Stansfield added a second seven minutes into the second half before Tomoki Iwata made it 3-1 just before the hour mark. Krystian Bielik was sent off late, but the Blues held on to clinch a 3-1 win.
However, a strange moment occurred before Bielik was dismissed for a second bookable offense. Mullin seemed as though he seriously considered - and even tried - to bite the leg of Birmingham left-back Alec Cochrane.
Mullin and Cochrane collided, and replays appeared to show the striker considering taking a bite out of the 24-year-old's leg. It was one of several interesting moments involving Mullin late in the fiery encounter.

Mullin sparked a mass brawl between the two sides at St Andrew's, with the Wrexham striker reacting angrily to a challenge which ultimately led to both sets of players confronting each other on the pitch. Tensions bubbled over again moments later, as both sets of players involved in a melee.
Speaking after the game, Cochrane was asked about the clash between players and told Sky Sports: “I don't really know to be honest, I was just on the floor. Handbags out of nothing... a load of nonsense really.”
Both Wrexham co-owner McElhenney and Birmingham co-owner Brady were in attendance as the NFL legend was joined by David Beckham. Alongside Beckham was his former Manchester United and England teammate Gary Neville.
Going into the match, Wrexham led the way in League One, boasting a better goal difference than Charlton Athletic after winning four and drawing one of their opening five games. Birmingham sat in sixth place with 11 points, but victory over Wrexham moves the Blues behind their Welsh rivals on goal difference with a game in hand.
