Former Everton and Middlesbrough striker Yakubu Aiyegbeni will play for Boreham Wood against Reading in a pre-season friendly on Saturday afternoon.
The 33-year-old former Nigeria striker was last spotted playing professionally for Turkish side Kayserispor, but will now turn out for the National League side against one of his former clubs.
The former Nigeria frontman is believed to be on trial with the Hertfordshire team and has recently taken in stints with Guangzhou RF in China and Qatar side Al Rayyan.
Yakubu has been capped 58 times for his country and was one of the Premier League's most-feared strikers after he was signed by Harry Redknapp at Portsmouth before he signed on at Middlesbrough in 2005 for a then-club record fee of £7.5million.
He helped Steve McClaren's team to their highest-ever Premier League finish of seventh and also to the 2006 UEFA Cup final.
The striker left the Riverside in August 2007 for Everton who paid £11.25million for his services. Yakubu has also turned out for Leicester and Blackburn in the Premier League, whilst also have a brief spell at Reading in 2014-15.
Yakubu has played in four African Cup of Nations tournaments, the Olympics and the 2010 World Cup for Nigeria.
But his next stop is Meadow Park on Saturday afternoon.
