Paris FC president Pierre Ferracci has confirmed Jurgen Klopp is not becoming the manager of the Ligue 2 side and there are no plans for him to do so in the future, despite Red Bull taking over the French club.

The former Liverpool boss secured his first post-Anfield role in football earlier this month when he was named as the Head of Global Football for the energy conglomerate. Despite announcing that he had no immediate plans to re-enter management after leaving Liverpool this past summer and clinching his new role with Red Bull, Ferracci still had to silence any rumours that the German would succeed Stephane Gilli as Paris FC boss.

The gossip took flight after news spread of Red Bull's intention to buy the Ligue 2 outfit alongside the Arnault family, via it's holding company Agache, who own luxury goods conglomerate LVMH.

Regarding the takeover, the Arnault family would initially own 55% of the club and Red Bull 15%. Ferracci would retain 30% of the club's shares before selling them in 2027 to the Arnault family.

The 72-year-old has been Paris FC president since 2012 and quickly dispelled any chance of Klopp being appointed as head coach in an interview with BFM Business. "No, he won't be the coach," he confirmed before quipping: "At least not for the moment... Unless one day we're in the Champions League."

The Frenchman then heaped praise on Gilli, who led Paris FC to a fifth place finish in Ligue 2 last season as he added: "Stéphane Gilli is doing a great job for us, we're going to learn what Jürgen Klopp's role is in terms of global coordination. He's someone I admire a lot."

Having not graced Ligue 1 since the 1978/79 season, a new era at Paris FC places them in good stead for a long-awaited promotion to the top division of French football. While Ferracci insisted that the club won't go berserk in the upcoming winter transfer window, he hinted that sizeable investment in the squad is coming sooner rather than later.

"Everyone recognises that we have a squad that is capable of going up (to Ligue 1). We're not going to do anything crazy at the January transfer window," Ferracci promised. "We'll be making small adjustments, as usual."

When asked whether the Arnault family will look to announce themselves in January, the president answered: "No, no, that will happen later." Paris have made a strong start this season as they sit top of Ligue 2 with six wins from their first eight fixtures and are two points ahead of second-placed Lorient.
