Jon Flanagan is set to agree a new three-year deal with Liverpool and end the uncertainty over his future.

Flanagan's current contact is due to expire at the end of the season and there has been a clamour from Kopites to re-sign the Scouse defender because of his impressive return from his injury hell.

The full-back missed 20 months with serious knee trouble and has pleased boss Jurgen Klopp since he returned to action earlier this year.

Liverpool opened talks to tie Flanagan down to a new deal and both sides are confident the 23-year-old will soon sign a new three-year agreement.

The Reds hope Flanagan can now realise the potential he showed under Kenny Dalglish and Brendan Rodgers and he was capped by Roy Hodgson in 2014 before his injury problems began.
