Friday's Liverpool stories from other newspapers and websites
Reus battle set to keep rolling
Borussia Dortmund vice-captain Marco Reus looks set to remain at the Westfalenstadion this season - but Liverpool already face a battle if they want to firm up their interest in the future.
The 25-year-old forward has been targeted by Brendan Rodgers, but according to the Express, Real Madrid have made the first move in a bid to get the German international to the Santiago Bernabeu next summer.
They report that officials of Los Blancos and BVB have already held secret meetings over a potential deal, with suggestions that Madrid will offer £18million and write off the remaining money owed to them for former Liverpool-loanee Nuri Sahin.
The likes of Chelsea, Manchester United and Bayern Munich have all also been linked with Reus.
Flanagan set for new deal
Jon Flanagan says he will soon sign a new deal with the Reds.
The 21-year-old made a sustained first-team breakthrough last term but his contract expires next summer,
However, he has told the Liverpool Echo that he is in talks and should ink a new deal soon.
"There have been some talks and I should be signing a new contract soon," Flanagan said. "It would be reward for all the hard work I've put in. It would be great for me and great for my family as well.
"All I've ever wanted is to play for Liverpool and I want to stay here for as long as I possibly can."
Robinson departs
Young defender Jack Robinson has left the Reds to join QPR on a permanent deal.
The 20-year-old has moved to Loftus Road for an undisclosed fee, signing a four-year deal with the west London club.
