West Brom have insisted they want to keep Saido Berahino beyond this summer - despite interest from Stoke and Spurs.
Spurs had four offers - totalling over £20million - for the England Under-21 striker rejected last summer. Both they and Stoke were also told in January that the player was not for sale.
Spurs have since moved for £12million AZ Alkmaar striker Vincent Janssen .
They are also keen on Marseille’s Michy Batshuayi.
It leaves West Brom with the prospect of losing Berahino for nothing. The 22-year-old has a year left on his contract and - having missed out on the Spurs move last summer - will not sign a new deal.
West Brom Technical Director Nick Hammond said: “I’ve had conversations with him and have been very impressed with him as an individual.
“I like him a lot and think he’s a top player. I told him clearly I’d love him to be at the football club next season.
“He’s a very talented individual, he’s a good age, he’s a home-grown academy player. He’s the type of player I’d love to be here next year.”
