Drake raked in a cool £425,000 in winnings, despite only one of his seven 'psychotic' bets landing during Sunday's Super Bowl.

It was the Kansas City Chiefs who came away with the title in Arizona, as they defeated the Philadelphia Eagles 38-35 in the season finale.

One man who will have been over the moon to see the Chiefs come away with the title is rapper Drake, after he wagered £581,000 ($700,000) on Andy Reid's team to win a third Super Bowl crown. His bet slip saw him collect just over an eye-watering £1.2 million in winnings.

However the 36-year-old Canadian's big win did not come without some loss, after six other of his Super Bowl gambles failed to come in.

In total Drake wagered £800,000 ($975k) in bets, whilst collecting his £1.2 million in winnings - which all came from his Chiefs victory bet slip. He initially posted all of his gambles on Instagram, writing: "My psychotic bets for Sunday are in @stake. Please do not analyze the logic behind these bets there is none."

His other bets saw him place £41,500 ($50k) on each of Patrick Mahomes and Juju Smith-Schuster to score the first Chiefs touchdown, but it was Nick Bolton who crossed the line first. Another punt saw Drake wager the same amount on the eventual champions winning at half-time, but it was the Eagles who had a 24-11 advantage.

The rapper also placed £25,000 ($30k) on the Chiefs to win all four quarters, as well as £21,000 ($25k) that Travis Kelce would be awarded the big prize of Super Bowl MVP, and another £50,000 ($60k) that the eventual MVP would be a tight end.

Despite his other losses, a relieved Drake was calling for his winnings post-match after the Chiefs secured a dramatic victory. Uploading a photo of him watching the game on TV he called on the bookmakers 'Stakes' to pay up his £1.2 million in winnings.

With Mahomes and Travis Kelche on the screen, he wrote: "Pay that man his MONEYYYYYYY Eddie @Stake." This is not the first time the Canadian star has won big thanks to the Chiefs, after securing £1.65 million in winnings after placing half the amount on the Super Bowl champions to prevail in their semi-final match with the Cincinnati Bengals.

His dabbles with the bookies have not always been successful though, after the 36-year-old lost nearly £1 million after betting on Argentina to defeat France in the World Cup final in normal time, only for their victory to come on penalties.
