Jason Kelce, the former Philadelphia Eagles star, is set to host a new late-night show on ESPN in the new year, marking a fresh direction for his blossoming TV career.

The future Hall of Famer will front 'They Call It Late Night With Jason Kelce,' which is set to premiere across the Worldwide Leader's platforms on Jan 3. The hour-long chat show, scheduled for Friday nights throughout the NFL playoffs, has five episodes lined up.

Filmed before a live studio audience at Union Transfer Center in Philadelphia, the show will draw from traditional late-night chat shows while spotlighting the biggest storylines in the NFL. Philadelphia-based band SNACKTIME will also feature, performing live sets.

The programme will initially air on ESPN before being made available on both the broadcaster and Kelce's YouTube channels. Production duties are being shared by NFL Films, Skydance Studios and Kelce's Wonderboy Productions.

Kelce revealed his new venture on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!', saying: "We'll be doing a late-night show during the postseason on ESPN," He added: "When I first approached ESPN about potentially working for them, Monday Night Football was a big part of that."

He continued: "[But] I loved late-night shows, I've always loved them. I remember sleepovers watching Conan O'Brien with my friends. The biggest thing players say they miss when they leave the sport is being around the guys, the locker rooms, the banter."

"Being able to have the show where we're going to have a bunch of guys up there, legends of the game, friends that I've played the game win, coaches, celebrities. NFL Films is also going to be part of it."

Kelce is ESPN's star signing of 2024, joining the broadcaster after hanging up his boots from the NFL. The one-time Super Bowl victor has become a regular on 'Monday Night Countdown' alongside Scott Van Pelt, Ryan Clark and Marcus Spears.

However, he will transition to hosting with his new project. The 37 year old does boast a wealth of experience in this area, having hosted the massively popular "New Heights" podcast with his brother, Kansas City Chiefs superstar Travis Kelce.

"They Call It Late Night with Jason Kelce will be an immersive experience from Union Transfer in Philadelphia, showcasing the Super Bowl champion's oversized personality and infectious humor mixed with celebrity guests from the football world and beyond, in front of a live audience of NFL fans," an ESPN press release read.

"The show's format will position Kelce and his guests to dissect NFL topics and storylines, mainly focused on that weekend's games, in both conventional and good-humoredly unconventional approaches including active participation from the fans in attendance."
