And Santiago Colts want it to be known that rumours that they are folding are false – they are in fact building more teams in preparation for next season.

HARBORNE HOTSHOTS 1 ASTWOOD COLTS 0
After excellent results Harborne Hotshots were full of confidence going into a tricky home fixture against formidable Astwood Colts.
Two excellent efforts almost took Harborne into an early lead. The first a slashing left-foot shot from Thomas Mills that flew just wide, the second a trademark right-foot drive from distance by Thomas Woods that was well saved. Astwood came into the match and dominated the next 10 minutes.
Matthew Oxley coped well in the centre of Harborne’s defence and Joel Hallam in the Harborne goal looked confident and gathered the ball consistently well. His booming goal-kicks flew the length of the pitch and unsettled Astwood.
Rhys Davies and James Draper began to combine well and brought Harborne back into the match. Rhys’ overhead kick and tireless running were hallmarks of the first half, supported by strong defensive play from Dominic Lewis.
The first couple of minutes of the second half saw Astwood pressure the Harborne goal, Jack Barber saving bravely at the feet of the Astwood strikers as they queued up to try to score.
After around eight minutes of the second half the deadlock was finally broken and Harborne took the lead.
A throw-in on the right from Thomas Woods was flicked on into the box by James Draper.
Joel Hallam capitalised on uncertainty in the Astwood defence to fire home powerfully with his left foot.
The last few minutes saw a tireless James Draper nearly fashion a second after rounding the defence, and Joel Hallam also went close with a powerful run and drive, but it wasn’t to be.
- Man of the match: Dominic Lewis

PENN COLTS 3 ASTON VILLA 4
AN outstanding game provided great entertainment for spectators with top-of-the-table Villa just edging the win.
Shanice opened the scoring for Penn with a left-foot strike from 16yds, but Villa equalised straight away when a great through ball was excellently placed into the top corner of the Penn goal. Penn took a lead into the break when Shanice met a corner with a powerful header.
Villa equalised in the 50th minute and then the sides swapped strikes for the score to stand at 3-3.
Until, with five minutes remaining, Villa won a corner and a strong header secured the winner for the visitors.

LEAMINGTON LIONS 6-0 MARSTON GREEN
SIX second-half strikes saw Leamington Lions tear apart Martson Green.
Once the first goal had gone in four minutes after the restart the floodgates opened as the hosts made good use of the windy conditions.
An even first half gave little indication of what was to come, but after the break the Lions showed that they intended to make better use of the advantage of having the wind behind them.
Lauren Holland opened the scoring after just four minutes of the half straight from an inswinging corner. Just a few minutes later, the side doubled their advantage with a rasping 20-yard strike.
Marston tried to force their way back into the game but by now the Lions were firmly on top and were 3-0 ahead on 52 minutes. Five minutes later a corner ended up in the back of the net after an unlucky deflection. The fifth goal on the hour was a simple tap-in at the far post.
Charley continued to make vital interceptions and break up play on the right and the scoring was completed with another tap-in at the far post.
Despite the scoreline Marston Green had real heart and they showed their best spell of the game in the final 10 minutes.
Claire Bicknell’s free kick was met superbly by Chelsey, who forced the keeper into a good save. Chelsey had another effort minutes later after good play between Charlotte and Amy.
On the day the hosts were too strong for Green but after all the postponements it was nice to get back on to the football field, even if it was a bit damp and muddy.

BOLDMERE FALCONS GIRLS 6 MEREWETHER HIGH, AUS, 1
Merewether made the long trip from Sydney to arrive in the cold and damp for the second leg of their epic tour taking in matches in the USA, Europe and Asia.
The game started evenly with skilful touches from both teams, but later Merewether tired – a flight from LA didn’t help –and Boldmere got on top to run out worthy winners.
