Bars and Melody have announced the end of their journey as the duo have split, ten years after appearing on Britain's Got Talent.

The music act made up of rapper Leondre Devries, 23, and singer Charlie Lenehan, 25, rose to prominence by appearing on the ITV talent show back in 2014, performing an anti-bullying track that left judge Simon Cowell speechless.

Impressed by their performance, the X Factor star sent them straight to the semi-final by using his Golden Buzzer. After progressing to the final, Bars and Melody finished third behind Lucy Kay and musical theatre group Collabro.

This success allowed Bars and Melody's album 143 to chart at number four in 2015 and the pair released two more records since.

However, in a new video shared on social media, the pair broke the news that their journey as Bars and Melody was coming to an end as they announced their farewell tour.

"The FINAL Tour - A celebration to end an ERA. We love you forever", they captioned their post. In their video, however, Leondre and Charlie took the time to address their fans from their recording studio, admitting they hadn't been on camera for a long time.

"It's time for one last adventure together. We want to thank you for all the love and support over the years. You've been the best fans that anyone could ask for."

They added: "We've been working on some new surprises for this tour, we cannot wait to share this final chapter." The duo's final concerts will take place in September, 2024, with 13 dates in total.

Five of their performances will take place in the UK while the rest of them will be in Europe. Their final concert as Bars and Melody will then take place in Tokyo, Japan.

Sydnie Christmas was crown the winner of this year's edition of Britain's Got Talent, despite many complaints about her past on the West End.

During a recent and exclusive interview with The Daily Mirror, the singer revealed she was a bag of nerves during the final as she recalled: "People said I knew I was going to win, when in fact I nearly threw up out of fear. I just wanted it over. I don’t think they should ever count down from 11 again. I was like, ‘Don’t do that, that’s so cruel.’ I nearly had a full-on panic attack."
