Bridgerton season 2 filming was briefly halted due to a member of the production team testing positive for Covid-19.
The Netflix period drama is currently in the middle of production on its second season which is filming in the UK.
However, filming on the show was paused following the detection of a positive COVID-19 case within the production team.
Taking the safety of the cast and crew was into account and following Covid regulations, close contacts of the person who tested positive had to isolate, while the entire cast and crew was tested to check for Covid-19 infection.
The Mirror understands that production is set to be back up and running today after the brief pause to follow the show's health and safety protocols.
The Sun reported that filming was halted after a member of Bridgerton’s production tested positive for Covid-19 which led to "crisis meetings".
A source told The Sun: "It’s also a headache for producers because removing cast or crew and putting them into isolation means they have to be replaced at short notice, and that’s not always possible.
“Netflix have gone to great lengths to ensure all the relevant measures are in place on Bridgerton, but this just goes to show how difficult it is for such a large set to be completely Covid-secure."
They add that this has created further concern around their other big costume drama hit The Crown.
The royal drama is soon to film its fifth and sixth seasons, with Imelda Staunton taking on the role of The Queen and Elizabeth Debicki taking over the role of Diana, Princess of Wales from Emma Corrin.
It is noted that filming on the series is due to start in the coming week.
The report comes after Bridgerton's first season received three nominations at the 2021 Primetime Emmy Awards.
The series is nominated for Best Drama Series, Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series for Julie Anne Robinson, and Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama series for actor Rege-Jean Page for his turn as Simon Bassett, Duke of Hastings.
Sadly, Page has already been confirmed to not be returning for the second run despite on-screen wife Phoebe Dynevor returning as Daphne Bridgerton.
The new series will be fronted instead by a returning Jonathan Bailey as Daphne’s brother Anthony, Viscount Bridgerton.
*Bridgerton season 1 is available now on Netflix with season 2 coming soon.
