Reece Shearsmith was born in Kingston upon Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire on August 27, 1969. The comedian and actor met actors and future collaborators Mark Gatiss and Steve Pemberton at Bretton Hall College of Education.
The trio then teamed up with Jeremy Dyson to form the League of Gentlemen comedy troupe in 1995 and went on tour throughout the 1990s.
They wrote and appeared in The League of Gentlemen TV series about the weird lives of residents in the fictional town of Royston Vasey.
