Known for her hard-hitting roles in Line of Duty, This Is England and Trigger Point, actress Vicky McClure is set to try on a different hat, as she's tipped to spice up The Masked Singer with a guest judge appearance. Come the new year, she's expected to join the likes of regular panellists Davina McCall, Jonathan Ross, Mo Gilligan, and newbie Maya Jama, alongside host Joel Dommett in the hit show that sees celebs masked head to toe, serenading and dancing their way into the judges' good books.

Insiders dished to The Sun: "Vicky might play a string of serious roles in dramas, but she’s actually a big fan of The Masked Singer and jumped at the chance to spend a fun day among the madness. Fans will love it too, after she inadvertently became involved in the 2021 series of sister show The Masked Dancer, when viewers were convinced she was Llama. She joked online about it back then, so was thrilled to have the chance to be legitimately in the loop this year."

Vicky is no stranger to the music scene having established the Our Dementia Choir, initially part of a BBC documentary in 2018. Following her grandmother's passing in 2015, Vicky explored music's profound impact on dementia sufferers and formed the choir with residents from her Nottingham hometown living with the condition.

In a 2018 interview with Stylist Magazine, the actress revealed what sparked her involvement with the charity. "My Nonna is the reason I have taken it as far as I have. I got involved with the Alzheimer’s Society before she was even diagnosed, then when she was I thought, ‘Oh, this is horrible.’ As an actor I get to portray lots of different people and it’s a really fulfilling job, but this took me away from that and gave me purpose. It’s something that’s going to have a real impact on people."

Meanwhile, Vicky has also been at the centre of speculation about a potential Line of Duty reunion, after a fun video emerged of her and co-stars Martin Compston and Adrian Dunbar enjoying a rickshaw ride together.

The clip, shared by Martin, showed the trio belting out a tune and was captioned "AC12 oot and aboot", prompting one excited fan to comment: "Oh my god please tell us this is the beginning of a new series!"
