Netflix fans are obsessed with a 'ten out of ten' action thriller, which is getting rave reviews on the streaming platform.

Law Abiding Citizen, which came out in 2009, stars Gerard Butler and is directed by F. Gary Gray, whose CV also boats Straight Outta Compton and The Italian Job.

It's written by Kurt Wimmer, who directed sci-fi smash-hits such as Equilibrium, UltraViolet and the 2020 remake of supernatural horror Children of the Corn.

The film follows Butler's character, Clyde Shelton, who is relentless in his pursuit of revenge on the people who slaughtered his wife and daughter in a home invasion. But he also goes after the police officials, including attorney Nick Rice played by Jamie Foxx, who could not deliver justice Clyde so desperately craved.

Giving the film a 'ten out of ten', many fans took to social media, encouraging viewers to watch it. One wrote: "'Law Abiding Citizen is a top 10 movie of all time." A second said: 'Law Abiding Citizen is almost a classic film and it's performance by Gerard Butler is Oscar-worthy." A third wrote: "Law Abiding Citizen is one of the greatest movies ever made. Real cinema" while a fourth said it was a "phenomenal movie" that "doesn't get enough credit" and dubbed it "top tier".

Another action thriller set to air on Netflix is Carry-On, which drops on December 13. The film stars Taron Egerton as security agent Ethan Kopek, who finds himself blackmailed by a mysterious traveller (portrayed by Jason Bateman), whom he initially encounters as a voice through an earpiece.

The villain coerces him into smuggling a dangerous package through airport security on a Christmas Eve flight, thereby putting hundreds of lives at risk. The thrilling trailer depicts Ethan being thrust into a high-stakes game of cat and mouse in an attempt to thwart the antagonist.

Jaume Collet-Serra, the director of Carry-On, confessed to the BBC that the film draws inspiration from Die Hard: "Everyone wants to make the next Die Hard and the reality is that no one ever will - it's a perfect movie that can't be replicated, and also a very specific product of its time. But when I read the script for Carry-On, I felt like I had found a more grounded version of Die Hard - which was our North Star for the entire process - for a new generation."

Taking to Reddit, fans expressing their anticipation for the film, one commented: "This could be a treat. Evil Bateman is the best Bateman." A second agreed, adding: "So agree! I love all JB. He's a hard worker, but I really love his evil. Reminiscent of Gene Hackman to me." Meanwhile, a fourth commented: "Looks very interesting. Good timing too, with many people flying for the holidays. I'll be watching it as soon as it is released."
