Will Young has expressed his disappointment over Amazon's The Grand Tour accusing the show of homophobia.
The singer, 42, said he was "shocked and upset" after presenter Richard Hammond made 'offensive jokes' when co-star Jeremy Clarkson drove a pink Jeep on the show in 2019.
The Grand Tour, which is also presented by James May is Amazon's answer to BBC's Top Gear after all three presenters left the show to form the rival production.
Speaking to The Times about the programme Will said: "The producers chose to make the main narrative 'Jeremy Clarkson is driving a hairdresser's car. Basically, Jeremy Clarkson is gay'.
"They had him wearing a pink shirt. They spray the car pink. They have him playing It's Raining Men."
Will, who revealed that Richard aka 'the hamster' was "the worst" of the three presenters because "he says things like I've got lots of gay friends", said he wished the 51-year-old would "take responsibility".
The singer had previously spoken out about The Grand Tour on Twitter, but was upset after fans rallied round the presenters and called Will a "snowflake".
At the time, the he wrote: "1. I love cars always have always will. 2. I loved going on Top Gear 3. Excited about watching new Top Gear and I’m afraid 3 heterosexual men SO uncomfortable with their sexuality that they reference in some lame way a Wrangler Jeep being a gay man's car.
".... and then Hammond and May’s ‘quips’ to Clarkson wearing chaps , a pink shirt , he should get some moisturiser . It’s f***ing pathetic and actually homophobic .
"And screw them and the show and Amazon (who by the way is a wonderful organisation I hope to forge a relationship)."
Will continued: "And you know what really f***s me off is this is a DECISION by the producers . Let’s make one of the narratives the ‘gay Jeep’ how DARE you, you obtuse, bigoted immature babies of men."
The next day the singer added: "No word from @PrimeVideo so @Ofcom beckons. Enough is enough and I’m p***ed and fed up.
"I want Amazon Prime and the producers of grand tour to meet young lgbt who want to kill themselves because of shaming and laughter and normalising of shaming homophobic narratives.
"I DON’T drive a Wrangler Jeep. I DON’T wear pink shirts . I DON’T wear a***less chaps. You can be honest and funny without this ridiculous "lad" ooh being gay and let’s laugh about its mentality.
"It’s repulsive and how DARE you do it and put it out @PrimeVideo."
Will concluded asking: "Is there a legal case ? Who knows . ....... watch this space."
The Mirror has contacted representatives for Will Young, Richard Hammond and Amazon Prime for comment.
