A 10-year-old horse named Nala was rescued by firefighters in Laguna Hills after falling into a ditch Monday.
The OCFA responded to an animal rescue call in the City of Laguna Hills yesterday shortly after 5:00 PM. Nala, a 10-year-old horse had lost her footing and fallen into a trench. The horse was walking across a bridge around 5:15 p.m. in the area of Nellie Gail Road and Buckboard Lane when she lost her footing and fell into a roughly 4-foot-deep ditch.
Firefighters responded and performed a large animal rescue, with the assistance of a veterinarian, who sedated the horse prior to the rescue, Orange County Fire Authority Capt. Thanh Nguyen said in an interview with OC Hawk News.
Using a technical rope, harness and pulley system, firefighters hoisted Nala from the hole. After the rescue, she was seen walking upright, according to a video shared by the Orange County Fire Authority on X.
