Lisa Hogan, Jeremy Clarkson's partner and co-star on the hit show Clarkson's Farm, has opened up about her terrifying experience during a flight from Majorca to London that ended in a dramatic crash landing on the A40. The star was in an aircraft that not only had to land on the highway but also ploughed through an airfield fence and collided with a van.
The incident took place back in 1997 when Lisa was living on the Spanish island and working on the film 'Fierce Creatures' with comedy icon John Cleese. Speaking to the Irish Independent, she recounted the chilling details: "We took off from Palma and I thought everything was fine for a while." She recalled how the captain had tried to tell her to move seats, saying: "The captain had tried to make me sit in a certain part of the plane."
But Lisa's decision to stay put may have saved her life, as she explained: "I insisted on sitting where I was, which was just as well because that was the area where the van came through when we crashed and I would have been killed instantly." Incredibly, she managed to catch another flight back to Majorca just hours after the crash, reports the Mirror.
Dublin-born Lisa met Jeremy at a social event through mutual friends and the couple has been together for around seven years. Lisa has become a beloved figure on Clarkson's Farm, which follows their life on Jeremy's farm in the Cotswolds.
Recently, Jeremy hinted at his partner Lisa's 'secret project' with The Great British Bake Off star Prue Leith, as the former Top Gear star revealed she had visited his new pub.
“Prue Leith came round the other day on the biggest motorcycle I’ve ever seen," Jeremy told The Sun. "She lives just down the road. She’s doing something with Lisa at the moment," he continued although he didn't spill any further details on what the pair were working on together.
Jeremy has now officially opened the doors to his £1 million boozer, The Farmer’s Dog, close to his farm in Oxfordshire.
Other A-Listers that have visited the site include David Beckham and Simon Cowell. “I see Amanda Holden in the pub from time to time, she lives very nearby," he told the publication.
"Simon Cowell, I saw at a party the other day, and Beckham came round once. I put a picture of him with Gerald on Instagram."
The motoring expert and TV personality splashed out a cool £1 million on the quaint Oxfordshire establishment earlier in June, and threw an opening party in the 'unfinished venue' for close friends during the Euros.
