They’re due to get married next May, but that doesn’t mean Jamie Laing and Sophie Habboo have been immune from having arguments.
And one of their squabbles spilled onto the most recent episode of their podcast as Sophie stormed out of the recording and admitted she was “crying my eyes out”.
In the previous episode of Nearlyweds, Jamie has embarrassed Sophie by revealing secrets about her, and now he has angered his fiancée by trying to play some of her drunken voice notes on the podcast.
Radio 1 presenter Jamie admitted he was annoyed at his former Made In Chelsea co-star after she came in from a night out and woke him and opened a bottle of Harrods champagne that the couple had been gifted.
“I’m salivating I’m so upset about it,” Jamie, 34, said before going on to say that he was going to play Sophie’s drunken voice notes from the night.
But Sophie, 29, was fully against the idea and fumed at her fiancée that it was “breach of my privacy”.
“Don’t do that,” said Sophie. “It’s such a breach of my privacy. I don’t think we can play my voice notes out.”
“This is one of the voice notes I get whilst I’m asleep,” says Jamie, before Sophie adds as she starts to get teary: “No I don’t want that on there.”
“It’s alright, it’s sweet,” says Jamie, to which Sophie replies: “No guys you’re taking it too far now, there are limits. I’m going to get p****d off.
“I don’t want that on there, I’m not having this on the podcast. Stop you’re really breaching my privacy."
“Ok I won’t say it, are you alright?” says Jamie. “You’re so annoying,” replies Sophie as her voice starts to break.
A panicked Jamie then says: “Ok honey I won’t do it, just chill for a second. It’s just you saying you’re drunk that’s all it was.”
But Sophie was already too upset at Jamie’s antics and decides to storm out of the recording. Listeners can then hear the couple arguing in the background before they return.
“Lets just pick up from where we left,” says Sophie. “Jamie just tried to play a voice note and I got very upset and stormed off the podcast everybody and cried my eyes out.”
“Was that an overreaction?” asked Jamie, to which Sophie replied: “Maybe,” before adding that saying he was going to play the voice notes was “dangerous territory.”
Jamie then claimed that during their heated break from recording that Sophie looked at him in the eyes and said: "You’re going to die alone."
“I’m not crazy I promise,” added Sophie. “That was a really mean thing to say, I apologise profusely.”
The pair have been busy planning their 2023 nuptials, but they recently admitted to us that wish they’d never bothered getting married as the process is so stressful.
Speaking exclusively to OK!, Sophie, also known as Habbs, said: "It's honestly so stressful, no, seriously, do not get married. We've got a date and a venue, so we're getting there. It's not been fun though.
“"People keep telling me there's a time that it's going to get fun, but it's not happened yet. Maybe nearer to the time. But my god, honestly, I wish we'd never bothered!"
