Earlier this week Ariana Grande broke her social media silence to announce the release of her brand new perfume, Cloud Pink, which is set to launch in the UK on September 6.
The new fragrance gives a fruity twist on her iconic original Cloud, £53 here, which if you’ve spent any time on #PerfumeTok recently, you’ll know has become one of the most popular perfumes on the market.
Identifiable by its sweet, sugary scent, “#arianagrandecloud” has amassed more than 21 million views and counting on TikTok, and despite the fact it was released way back in 2018, it seems people still can’t get enough of it.
Although it’s not as expensive as some luxury fragrances, forking out more than £50 on a perfume can be a stretch for some, which is why we were thrilled to discover a much more affordable alternative courtesy of Victoria’s Secret Body Mist in Midnight Blooms, £18 here.
The body mist has been touted as a dupe of Ariana Grande’s Cloud by various YouTube videos and TikToks, who find the scents to be almost identical.
Clouds has top notes of lavender blossom, juicy pear and bergamot, heart notes of crème de coconut, praline and vanilla orchid, and base notes of sensual musks and creamy woods, which create a sweet, addictive scent.
The Midnight Blooms body mist has a top note of moonflower, with woody heart notes and a honeysuckle-scented base note. Although the fragrances aren’t exact replicas of Cloud, according to beauty fans the two end up smelling identical.
YouTuber Love Queenie Angelie compared the two in her video, and after spraying two spritzes of each she confirmed that they do in fact smell almost exactly the same, whilst TikToker L.A Cosmetics Nepal called the Midnight Blooms spray a dupe of the Cloud perfume.
Even aside from being a great dupe for the Ariana Grande fragrance, it seems fans can’t get enough of the Victoria’s Secret Midnight Blooms, £18 here, giving it 4.5 stars out of 5.
“Just perfect, smell, everything,” wrote one, whilst another said: “Smells lovely. Good size for cost. A bargain.”
It’s also been noted that Zara’s Red Temptation perfume, £22.99 here, has a very similar scent to Cloud, with notes of praline, jasmine, and musk giving it an almost identical scent palette to the much-loved perfume.
Don’t forget, you can also get the Ariana Grande Cloud Body Mist, £12.50 here, which comes in a smaller bottle than the Victoria’s Secret spray, but of course has exactly the same scent as the perfume.
Whether you’ve run out of Cloud or are just looking for a more affordable alternative to carry around in your bag, there’s no reason to give up on smelling like your favorite perfume - especially while we eagerly wait for her the new version to drop in September.
