Poor Ruby has been heartbroken following her husband’s betrayal in Emmerdale, and it seems that finally enough is enough for her as she has left the village, at least for the time being. Ruby discovered that Caleb had lied to her over the death of her mother, Helen, with him swindling her mum out of £100,000 before she died.
It turned out that Helen had tried to see her daughter, but Caleb had intervened and gone to see Helen instead, demanding she pay him before he would arrange a meeting with Ruby. Unfortunately, Helen died shortly after giving Caleb the money. When Helen’s will was read, Ruby figured out what her husband had done, and by the episode on Wednesday 23 October, Caleb was accusing his wife of trying to sabotage his deal with Jimmy to buy out the haulage firm, adding more tension between the couple.
Trying to patch things up, Caleb revealed he had been speaking to Suni Sharma about the couple visiting their son Nicky, but as Suni was only happy for Ruby to visit, she left the village to see her son while taking a much needed break from her husband. However, Ruby is expected to return soon.
Beth Cordingly, who plays Ruth, recently took a break from social media, reassuring her fans her Instagram break would only be for “a little while.”
Addressing her fans at the end of September in a video with her cat, Beth said: "Hi guys, we [Beth and her cat] are having a few weeks away from social media, aren't we? Sending you all love - I'll see you on the other side." Her cute black and white cat meowed as Beth encouraged him to "say something" before ending the video clip.

Off screen, Beth is in a relationship with former Emmerdale actor Ian Kelsey. He appeared in the Yorkshire-based soap as Dave Glover from 1994 until his character was killed off in 1997.
Speaking about her relationship, Beth previously told The Mirror: "I am very in love with Ian and very happy. I think it really does work him being an actor too. He has been so fantastic.”
She added: "There is that thing as an actor where you are always taken away from home. But he totally gets it. He knows a lot of the crew and cast and so it’s lovely to be able to share what I’ve been up to, knowing he understands."
