The May Pentax Limited Lens Referral Giveaway raffle closed at midnight GMT on June 1, 2024. We’ve tallyed up the final raffle total entries, and are planning to live-stream the drawing Thursday, June 13, at 6 pm CDT to see who wins their choice of a Pentax FA or DA Limited lens, photo software, and more! The raffle really drove subscriptions to this newsletter: there were 1,080 subscribers when the raffle was announced; that’s jumped to 1,356! Here is the link to the livestream; it will be on the Pentax Forums YouTube channel, which we are relaunching this month. Look for more videos in the coming weeks!

Site Supporter Weevil has won the $100 First Prize in our 2024 Total Solar Eclipse Photo Contest! I did photograph the eclipe here, but I missed that diamond ring by a thin hair... not sure why, but that one was too much overexposed, but I managed to do that one just seconds before...Weevil wrote about this photo:
We had so many excellent entries — check them out in this gallery — that we had to hold a runoff. Weevil was tied with New Member Ryanspangenberg after the first round of voting, but won handily in the runoff voting. Look for an upcoming Pentax Forums article on how Weevil got the winning shot.

We've entered the final week of voting in our contest for the best photos of the April 8 total eclipse of the sun. First prize is a $100 gift card to a photo/software retailer of your choice, such as B&H, Amazon, Adorama, Henrys, Adobe, Topaz, eBay, etc. The winner will be featured in a Pentax Forums homepage article where they can explain how they got the shot! Second prize is a one-year forum account upgrade, and third prize is a box of photo paper from Red River Paper.
