A driver from Bere Ferrers it set to appear before a judge later this month to offer his plea to the charge of allegedly intentionally causing grievous bodily harm to a pedestrian.
Jordan Blackmore, 29 and from Fore Street, Bere Ferrers was arrested by police following an incident in Southside Street at around 2pm on November 21, 2024 which saw a man who had got out of an orange Volkswagen van suffer serious injuries after he was in collision with the rear of a blue Audi S3.
Blackmore later presented himself to police at Charles Cross police station and he was initially arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. He was later charged with wounding with intent and an offence under the Public Order Act.
The 29-year-old appeared before three magistrates at Plymouth Magistrates' Court on Saturday, November 23, where he was formally charged with one count of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm on November 21 and one count of using threatening behaviour towards a named woman on the same day.
No pleas were offered and magistrates remanded Blackmore into custody. He was set to appear at Plymouth Crown Court on January 6, 2025 for a plea and trial preparation hearing but this has now been re-listed by the court to be heard on January 29.
