Some of the busiest roads in Plymouth including the A38, Tavistock Road, and Gdynia Way will be affected by new roadworks this week.

The latest list of roadworks for the city sees plenty of schemes starting in the next seven days that will affect motorists trying to get around Plymouth.

One lane on the A38 will be closed on slip road from Leigham Roundabout to Marsh Mills Roundabout (opposite Halfords), 9.30am to 11am on Tuesday, while from Tuesday to Friday overnight, the slip road from Marsh Mills to Leigham (Forder Valley) Roundabout closed will be closed from 7pm to 6am.

On Gdynia Way, there will be a road closure, inbound on the slip from Cattewater Road and lane closure, inbound from junction with the Laira Bridge Road slip to the junction with Cattewater Road slip, 7pm to 11pm, on Tuesday, for Manhole cover repairs.

On Monday to Wednesday, on Tavistock Road, one lane is closed from Woolwell Roundabout to Roborough footbridge, 9.30am to 3.30pm, in the outbound direction,

And Grand Parade will be closed between Radford Road and Hoe Road, 7pm to 6am from Friday to Tuesday, as will Hoe Road be closed between Grand Parade and Madeira Road, 7pm to 6am for the same period.

Other schemes on the A38, such as works on the Forder Valley Link Road, also continue to affect motorists.

Plymouth City Council has helpfully put out a list of roadworks that will be taking place across the city over the next week.

The council is responsible for coordinating works carried out by utility companies, developers and other organisations as well as their own repair, maintenance and improvement works.

They maintain all public roads in Plymouth except the A38, which is managed by Highways England on behalf of the Department for Transport.

“We know there's no good time to close roads, especially on busy routes and we do everything we can to co-ordinate planned works and minimise their impact on our transport network,” a City Council spokesman said.
