ABSTRACT: Based on 974 sample data from 24 townships in 10 provinces, the impact of political trust and social trust on villagers’ political participation was analyzed. The study finds that the overall political trust of the villagers is significantly positively related to political participation. Among them, the villagers’ trust in the Party Central Committee and the township government has the strongest interpretation of their political participation. Social trust has no impact on the villagers’ political participation, general trust and special trust. There is no statistical significance in political participation with the villagers. That is, general trust and special trust have no statistical significance for the villagers’ political participation.
