Hurricane Beryl passed just south of Jamaica Wednesday as a Category 4 hurricane on a path that would take it past the Cayman Islands overnight

Beryl is forecast to continue toward Mexico’s coast of Belize toward the end of the week, according to the National Hurricane Center.

Beryl’s is forecast to weaken but remain a hurricane before making landfall somewhere south of Tulum and Cancun late in the week. After exiting the Yucatan Peninsula, It will likely regain some strength over the Bay of Campeche and Gulf of Mexico and track toward Mexico’s northeastern coast or the southeastern coast of Texas. Corpus Christi, Texas, is in Beryl’s forecast cone of uncertainty.
