Seth MacFarlane, Sara Bareilles, Pentatonix, and more will also be on hand to celebrate the holiday season at ”Christmas in Rockefeller Center”.
Christmas in Rockefeller Center will air live from Rockefeller Center this Wednesday on NBC. The 82nd annual event will feature an 85-foot-tall Norway spruce from Hemlock Township, Pennsylvania. The tree is approximately 90 years old and weighs roughly 13 tons. Before the prime-time telecast, an additional live hour of programming will be broadcast on select NBC stations.
The evening's performances will feature Mariah Carey singing "All I Want for Christmas Is You." Additional performers will include Prince Royce, Darius Rucker, the Rockettes, Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett, Cyndi Lauper and Billy Porter, Seth MacFarlane and Sara Bareilles, Idina Menzel, Pentatonix, LeAnn Rimes, and Trisha Yearwood. Today anchors Matt Lauer, Savannah Guthrie, Al Roker, and Natalie Morales are set to host.
NBCUniversal's sustainability initiative, Green Is Universal, and the Arbor Day Foundation will kick off their tree-planting campaign, Share a Tree, during the broadcast. Viewers will be asked to participate by tweeting #shareatree or visiting greenisuniversal.com. For every tweet, like, share, or comment, the Arbor Day Foundation will plant one tree, up to 1 million.
