Excellent
GGuest UserThe service at this hotel is topnotch. We ended up staying in one of the cheaper rooms which was on the smaller side of things, but everything was a great experience. Everyone has mentioned the great breakfast (and it is), but they also have fantastic comfortable beds, Chromecast, wifi, and very clean bedrooms/bathrooms. Again, I'd like to commend the service again. They went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable, packed an early morning breakfast for us when we were going to leave early, and had recommendations on the best things to do (and how to save a couple of bucks if needed). Location is fantastic! You are a very short walk from the fish market and the tourist area. Additionally, there is a grocery store right across the street (eating out in Norway can be pricey) along with a small shopping center about a block away. The funicular to the top of the surrounding mountains is about a 5 minute walk from the hotel. If you're looking for affordable bites to eat there is a gyro cafe not far from there and a great Burmese restaurant. If you're trying to get there from the airport, it will cost you between $50-$70 via taxi (approx. 25 mins) or $8-10 via train (approx. 45 - 55 mins from what I could tell). The buses in town and the surrounding areas are clean, very timely, and easy to use. However, you'll want to have downloaded the app ahead of time to make using them easier.
GGuest UserThe location is great, right in the centre of Reykjavík, 5 minutes walk to reach the main attractions. The room was clean and tidy and there was a complimentary breakfast offered which was great.
GGuest UserStayed when: August 2022 - 5 nights, party of 4 (booked a corner suite which comprised 2 rooms with a common entrance) Location: Excellent; key areas/attractions were walking distance (10 minute walk from train station) Rooms: The first room was large whereas the 2nd room was quite small. Not sure if the bed in the 2nd room would qualify as a double bed. The rooms are nicely done up. Breakfast: Good breakfast. However hot beverages such as cappuccino etc not part of the breakfast package. Have to be paid for separately. Not an issue but found it strange/petty for a hotel like this. Gym: Small but functional. Gives the impression that not much thought has gone into it. Two issues - first was lack of ventilation and second was no drinking water available Service: While the staff was polite and helpful, we faced some service issues. The lock on the main door to the corner suite (leading up to the 2 rooms) was not working. Despite requesting the reception staff several times to have it fixed, the problem was not solved. In the end, we gave up and just kept the doors to the two rooms locked (which somewhat defeated the objective of getting a corner suite). Also, were surprised to see the rooms hadn’t been cleaned one day. Found out the rooms are not serviced daily unless one puts up the room service sign on the door. We should have been informed of this at the time of check-in. Other: We had the windows open for ventilation during the night. As a result, our sleep was disturbed all the nights because of noise from outside (saw lots of college students all over Bergen who would be partying late into the night / early morning). Overall: Nice, charming hotel. While we had no major complaints, unlikely we will consider this hotel again because of the above service/small issues.
GGuest UserWe stayed one night. Staff are all very helpful. The rooms comfortable and breakfast was all we needed. A good quiet atmosphere and well situated but not at the correct harbour for our cruise, but good for wandering around and just near the funicular railway for excellent views of this area. Taxi fares like everything here in Norway 2-3 times typical UK price.
BBikThe location is average, but the breakfast is excellent for 10 minutes. There are a variety of salmon, freshly baked bread, and even a dessert (sweet). A rare mushroom to eat, different hot drinks are available! Praise Light dinner can, because there is no need to pay extra, don't have great expectations, it is absolutely acceptable! In summary, the price is 10 points high.
GGuest UserI stayed here with some colleagues as were attending a conference about 15 drive from this hotel. I had a pleasant stay and am happy to recommend it. here are the main points: Location: 15 minutes by taxi from the airport. Use Bergen taxis as they have a a special discounted rate with this hotel, expect to pay about 280 kroner. Bergen taxis have the local number 07000, but this only works if you have a Norwegian phone. if you have a foreign phone you need to dial +45 5599 70 00. There were no Bergen taxis in the long line of taxis outside the airport, so i had to call them. A car with a friendly driver arrived within about one minute. if you come with a car there is free car parking at the hotel. Reception: I arrived late and was checked in by Gunnar, who was friendly and helpful. The staff on reception were all friendly and helpful when approached, special mention to Erlend who printed my boarding passes for me. The reception area is a huge atrium with a bard and many comfortable sofa seats. Room: I had booked a superior room and mine was on the third floor. The room was spacious with a sofa seat and desk. The bathroom had a large walk in shower. The bed was very comfortable and I slept well, and the room was very quiet. Breakfast: An excellent self service breakfast is offered in the main restaurant. Huge choice of hot and cold items to choose from. However, they do not offer any lunch which was disappointing as I had a late check out and wanted something to eat before going to the airport. They only offer a small selection of snacks, dinner is not served until 17.00. Conclusion: A nice hotel with friendly staff, comfortable rooms and an excellent breakfast. I would certainly stay again if in the area.
GGuest UserThe hotel was located right in the center of Bergen.
Although there was reception staff we had to pick up the hotel key in a box another time (went well but was a bit strange I think).
In the hallway itself there was a slightly strange smell. But the room itself was perfectly fine.
There is a lot to do in the center of Bergen if you want it. Lots of dining areas / bars etc.
We did not get breakfast there due to. we woke up today (May 17), which in Norway is considered a Sunday. Then they did not have breakfast there. So we had to take another place.
What was minus it was that they did NOT have luggage storage there. So there the hotel has something they need to fix right away.
TTW2024I like this place where I can cook. I eat a lot and eating in restaurants in Norway is too expensive. Supermarkets are nearby so buying foods is convenient. Room has a dish washer but I don’t know how to use. Near a lake and near train station. Cleanliness is so so. Price is good. Bed is next to the heater and curtains are on the heater. Not sure if it will burn so I put curtains on the wall. Good hot shower. They only provide a hand washing liquid bottle in the bathroom. Bring your own toiletries.
AAnonymous UserWe visited the bohemian in December, we thought that an elevator was available in the building and were disappointed it wasn’t. The staff however solved the problem immediately by carrying our luggage upstairs. The room is more than satisfying: very beautifully decorated and has all the facilities you need.
Just a proposal for the bookings through other sites: people don’t get all the information to check in, maybe there is a better communication plan needed..
BBùiReasonable price, room is a bit smelly but overall clean, I had a great sleep here. Remember to call the hotel in advance to check in, password to enter the door.
Had to go through 3 layers of password to get to the room 😝
