The house looked a little creepy and heavily filled with plantations, but it's actually nice and not that bad. Good to experience the vintage feel. Just that the room's sizes are not standardized. Some rooms are small while some are spacious but with the same price. They have all basic necessities given however no laundry machine as stated in amenities.

I stayed for 2 nights in Feb20 as I needed to attend a wake/funeral nearby. So my needs were rather basic - a clean bed (checked), clean shower (checked) and security (security). Located in a rather new development, it is a nice cosy hotel with 3 floors. The building was built for commercial purposes - like eateries, pubs, offices, and there were plenty of these nearby. The carpark is in the middle of the stretch of road between the 2 banks of buildings and it fills up very quickly. The things that I found lacking were: (1) only 1 power point in the whole room. Luckily, I brought a multi-plug charger. Clearly inadequate for modern lifestyle where you have more electrical appliances, like laptops, hair dryers. (2) No kettle or fridge (at least in Room 208). I can accept the lack of a fridge but no kettle to boil water was a surprise. Coupled with the fact there is only one convenience shop in the whole vicinity (and note it is not 24 hours), it is a major letdown. (3) The hot water in the bath takes too long to warm up, like after 5 minutes of water flowing (such a waste). In the long run, the high water wastage will add up. (4) the carpets in the corridors were stained and needed cleaning. It is a new hotel and the corridors is the first impression to all visitors. Overall, my needs for this trip were basic as I was hardly in the room, except to sleep and bathe, but the hotel can do better.

The hall is clean and welcoming. And with a hawker food centre next to it, everything seems good. However there is no free parking at the front of the hotel but you can park for free at a nearby basement car park (ask receptionist for direction). We were given a corner room, and once I opened the door and on the light, I was shocked to see cockroaches crawling out from underneath the bed and back again! Didn’t have good night sleep for consecutive 2 days. My friends in the other room also felt uncomfortable for the 2 nights. Maybe the room is rather small for 2 pax. The pleasant thing is the Bosses Cafe next to the hotel offers very good coffee and desserts.

The hotel is strategically located in Bukit Mertajam. The staffs are friendly and helpful. The room is clean with all the necessary basic amenities. Disposable toothbrush is even provided. It is a good hotel to stay just to bunk in for a good night sleep.

The hotel is located on the mainland, before calling a taxi, please note this, Google maps lead in the wrong direction. Be sure to contact the hotel before check-in, and even while you are at the hotel, if you want to extend your stay by paying online, check with the reception to see if there are rooms (the apps will show that they are), but they may not be there. The room is clean, the floors in the hallways are washed every day. Smoking is not allowed in the hotel, but we clearly heard the smell of tobacco on the floor, for which there is a fine (as it is written). Wifi is good, there is cold and hot drinking water on the ground floor. There is a 7-11 and another grocery store within a 2-minute walk, and a 99 store within a 10-minute walk. If you go out onto the road and go right to Maybank Bank, you will see a cafe with Pakistani food, they cook very tasty rice. In general, the hotel is not bad, if they would solve the issue of confusion with hotel rooms. And yes, there are always no places in it. So if there is an alternative, I wouldn't risk it
