Adina Apartment Hotel Cologne

Had a wonderful 3-night stay at this lovely property. Located just a stone’s throw away from Köln Messe/Deutz station, which was very convenient for us who travelled directly from Frankfurt Airport. Its surrounding was peaceful and quiet. Checking-in by Clemens was a breeze. Clemens was friendly and answered all our queries with patience. He also gave us helpful information on dining options in the vicinity. Our courtyard facing Studio room was spacious and quiet, had every amenity we needed for a comfortable stay. We used the washer and dryer every night and it was definitely a great to have. USB charging ports and power points could be found on both sides of the bed and at sitting area. Internet speed was fast. Was able to screen mirroring with my device and hence we were able to enjoy watching Netflix on the big TV screen. Daily housekeeping had also done a wonderful job of keeping our room clean, replacing our used towels and replenishing the laundry detergent. There was a small indoor pool but we didn’t have the time to use it. Our room didn’t come with breakfast, but we did try it out on one morning. Found that it was a tad overpriced at €22 as the spread wasn’t big and choices were pretty limited, the only disappointment we had of this property. Overall a fantastic stay and is value for money. Would strongly recommend this property to anyone who is visiting Cologne.
Stadthotel am Römerturm

Cologne City Center
This hotel does not care about the comfort of customers. We asked two days in a row if we could have extra pillows and we leave tomorrow and we still don’t have them. The air conditioning was broken and we reported it twice and it is still stifling and broken. We had to buy a fan at 16 euros so we could sleep. Housekeeping didn’t bother making the bed when they were in and there are pointless items like a shoe horn and a nail file but no shower gel, phone nor kettle/ tea/ coffee. You should write your needs on a post it and hang on bathroom mirror- but no pen! Smallest most basic room - fire hazard if you have 2 cases as you need to block the door to have a place to sit them. Appalling service, overpriced, uncomfortable and feel ripped off- and we only leave tomorrow! Stay away from this hotel- service is uncaring and rubbish- a girl just making a list of complaints from rooms on the front desk and doing nothing about them!
25Hours Hotel Cologne the Circle

The hotel can be a little extravagant about decoration and spaces, but the service is excellent, the availability of staff is very good, the clean, comfortable room and with everything necessary to enjoy if you don't look for luxury. The breakfast buffet is very good, I think a little expensive but there is nothing to say about variety and quantity. Near the metro and walking distance from the Cologne hbf and from tourist sites such as the cathedral, the river, etc. this makes it a good base for business trips (Cologne Messe) or for tourists.
The Midtown Hotel

Friendly desk staff. Comfortable beds. No mini fridge in room. Rooms were provided with a bottle of water which was nice. Plenty of storage. The soap provided in the bathroom was of poor quality so definitely bring your own. Breakfast was ok. It seemed far too expensive for what it was- yogurt/bread/cheese/ eggs/ honey . One day we found mouldy yogurt/orange/crudités - they dealt with this swiftly and didn’t charge us for breakfast. Housekeeping didn’t come once during our 3 night stay. One of the chairs in our room had questionable stains on it. The gym looked very small and only had one set of weights and an elliptical machine. Overall a comfortable stay. More 3 star than 4 star hotel. Was conveniently situated close to good shops and restaurants.
Hotel Imperial

Had a lovely three nights at the Hotel Imperial. In fact, it was our favourite hotel of the three we stayed in whilst travelling around Germany for a week. The hotel is in an ideal location and a 5-10 minute walk from Venloerstrasse-a street with lots of restaurants, cafes and bars. In fact it’s much better to get a meal here as opposed to some of the tourist traps nearer the Altstadt. You can walk from the hotel to the Cathedral in about 35 mins or otherwise the public transport is 5-10 mins walk. We had a very comfortable and quiet room on the third floor. All amenities we needed were provided. The hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful. A shout out to Hert Engelmann who was patient and complimentary with my rusty German and who gave us some excellent t restaurant tips. Would definitely return.
Astor & Aparthotel

Cologne City Center
I arrived at the hotel and discovered that I had left my phone in the taxi that had taken me there. I was extremely distressed when checking in as this would ruin my entire holiday. The front desk manager Sonia gave me a bottle of beer and proceeded to call the main taxi companies in Koln to try and help me find my phone. She spent about an hour trying to call my phone in the hope of someone picking it up. She allowed me to e-mail my partner who was able to try calling my phone and eventually someone picked up and I was able to get it back. Sonia did not have to help me as much as she did but her kindness and professionalism helped save my whole trip. The other staff were all very friendly and helpful also which made my stay very enjoyable. My room was great - it had a kitchen area and bathroom as well as a large television. I can't speak highly enough of the place overall and the staff, especially Sonia, went above and beyond their duties to ensure I had an enjoyable stay.
