The overall property is good and well maintained, breakfast spread is pretty good with good variety and quality of food. As chengde is not a big city, it was easy and cheap to get cabs to go everywhere.

MMaria InmaculadaMy experience was overall good, but the bathroom of the room I booked for the first night (single, queen bed) was so stinky at night that I could not bear it. I called the concierge, and the maid came to clean the bathroom (they were very fast= good service) but the problem is in the pipes, not in the cleanliness, (it was very clean) so spraying a bit of air freshener won't solve the problem. I changed rooms the following night.
Also, it was quite noisy at night and in the early morning, they should keep an eye on noisy guests.
Last thing, but not less important, people were smoking inside the hotel corridors and it was stinky. The management should try to enforce the rules of non-smoking. I understand that know nobody in the hotel wants to call on the smoking clients, but not enforcing the law results in other clients being unhappy too.
All in all, I would probably stay there again.

GGuest UserThe stay was ok. The pros were the very kind women at the front desk. The location is great. The shower was good with a lot of hot water. When I had a specific complaint about a room, I got another room instantly. There were several cons though. The whole hotel smelled of smoked and perfume that tried to cover the smoke smell. The cleaning standard does not live up to our standards. There were several hairs from the previous guests. The floor was dusty in corners and under the bed. The river couldn’t be seen well due to dirty windows. The bed was very hard. The breakfast is McDonalds, we were hoping to get traditional Chinese breakfast.

GGuest UserWe chose this place because there is only a couple of hostels in this area that takes non-Chinese visitors. The room is spacious and clean with a huge bed (it’s a hard mattress, not soft). Shower is a bit weak but enough for our cleaning need. A very short walk to the entrance which allowed us to view the sunrise. A huge menu to choose from for lunch and dinner - you can pre-order and let the host know when you want the food to be served. Free breakfast that was well-balanced and filling. Can drive you to Gubeikou Station to catch the train back to Beijing for a negotiable fee. Overall we had a great 2-night stay!

GGuest UserThe May Day family tour in Chengde, considering the location, room environment, surrounding facilities, price and other factors, finally booked Tianbao Holiday, stayed for three nights, very satisfied.
The hotel is located in the city center, with complete surrounding facilities. Shopping malls, supermarkets, civic squares, night markets, restaurants, etc. are basically within a radius of one kilometer and can be reached on foot. It is not far from the Summer Resort, you can walk, ride a shared electric motorcycle, or take a taxi at the starting price.
Parking at the hotel is also very convenient, with parking lots on the ground and underground.
The hotel rooms are clean and tidy, and the decoration is relatively new. The room we booked has a floor-to-ceiling window with a great view! The children like to take the hotel's sightseeing elevator the most.
The staff is enthusiastic and Pingping is beyond professional and warm-hearted. There is free Tremella soup in the evening, and the children drink it every night. There is a shortage of water and laundry detergent, and the response is super fast.
Overall, the hotel is still very good, and I will choose Tianbao Holiday next time I come to Chengde!

GGuest UserThe location is good, very close to Chengde South Station, and also very close to the Summer Resort by car. I booked a superior double room. Because there were elderly people traveling with me, I asked the hotel to stay on the same floor before checking in. The hotel front desk upgraded me to a luxurious double room without saying a word. In the bed room, the sofa in the room can be pulled out to become a single bed. It is especially convenient for us traveling with two children. The room is clean and tidy, and the cleaning staff is very good. Maybe they saw children in the room and gave it to us. Disposable face towels, soaps, etc. are added; the elevator entrance on the 4th floor where you stay is right next to the gym and laundry room, with 3 washing machines and 3 dryers, which can be dried in half an hour; the most satisfying thing is the buffet breakfast. There is a wide variety of drinks, coffee, cold dishes and hot dishes, and the service is very good. I will definitely stay here again next time I come to Chengde. Highly recommended.

There are also many places to eat in the surrounding area and all kinds of conveniences. The courtyard of the hotel is bright and spacious, and the parent-child room with a small courtyard is very satisfactory. The service is excellent. MMooMooooThe location of this hotel is excellent if you are wanting to do an early morning sunrise at Jingshanlin Great wall. This hotel is just right at the foot of the great wall entrance!
From the time when we check in to check out, to the staff at the restaurant, they all provided excellent service, with a good smile, friendliness and willingly to help if you have any questions. They are very accommodating for our needs as well since we have a few of us that's vegetarian.
The breakfast provided in the morning is excellent and very very fueling. Healthy too. If you want more of something that you like, they will bring it out again. We ate at the restaurant at night too, and the food was good.
The room has all the amenities you need. Too bad the spa was not open when we're there (due to maintenance).
Overall, excellent place to stay, right at the foot of the great wall. Jingshanlin Great wall is beautiful and one of the beautiful section of the great wall. Definitely worth a visit.

AAnonymous UserI would like to highlight three things in which I felt were very pleasant during my stay at the lodging.
First, I was pleasantly surprised at the service they offered. When my family and I were staying at lodging, the workers were extremely heartwarming and kind. They were willing to answer any questions we had about the attractions nearby and even drove us to the Jinshan Ling Great Wall of china Nearby.
Second, I would like to highlight the amenities and activities offered at the lodging. Although we only scratched the surface of the activities they offered. The lodging provided us with countless options. From having a mini movie theatre as well as pool & billiards room, they also offered a wide range of outdoor adventures such as kayaking and fishing which will surely enrich your stay there. Furthermore, the amenities themselves at the room we were staying in were exceptional. The lodging was spacious and provided us with separate rooms to stay in, making our stay an extremely pleasant one.
Lastly, I would like to highlight the food at the lodging itself. At every lodging one books I’m sure one would look forward to having delectable food right within a stone’s throw away. Needless to say, the food offered by the lodging from breakfast to dinner was both delicious and affordable.
I would highly recommend booking a stay here should you want to visit the attractions in the area but don’t forget to take time to enjoy and experience the adventures offered by the lodging too!
