It was the first time staying in a ryokan and it was great! The dinners were great and the stay was comfortable. However, the room does not have any shower so you need to go to the public bath to have a shower.

The hotel is wonderful. We had a room in Japanese style. We also took breakfasts and dinners kaiseki, incredibly tasty, both days were different. The onsen is wonderful, we also booked private ones 2 times, had a very pleasant time. Attention is paid to the hotel guests, at dinner they gave origami as a keepsake, very nice. You can get to the hotel by bus from Yumoto station. The stop is right in front of the hotel, very convenient. You can also get to the lake and the cable car by bus, not very far.

The location of the hotel is great and the facilities are perfect for the price. I was able to enjoy the sulfur hot springs and the room was large, so it was the best experience of my trip. My wife left behind some earrings and a ring, and I was very touched that they so kindly sent them to me by international mail. I will definitely visit again. Highly recommended!

You can reach the ryokan by taking a mountaineering bus in front of Hakone Yumoto Station in about 20-30 minutes. Rather, it was better because it was located in a quiet mountain neighborhood with not many people. The staff who helped us check in were friendly, and although it is an old ryokan, it was nice that the facilities were well maintained. When checking in, I made a reservation for a private onsen and also added dinner on site. (When checking in, the staff will ask you if you want to add more food.) If you go to the restaurant on the first floor for a meal, you will be guided to a private room with partitions, where you can eat kaiseki cuisine. :) It takes 15-20 minutes to travel by bus from the stop in front of the hotel to Togendai Station, a major tourist attraction in Hakone, and was convenient. Among the ryokan staff, there were many foreigners in addition to locals, so there seemed to be no problem with communication even with foreign guests who spoke English. It was a 5-10 minute walk to the convenience store, and if you walked a little further, there was a local supermarket in the neighborhood. The ryokan's private hot spring was cozy and nice, and the public hot spring was also nice and cozy. When I arrived at meal time, there was no one using it, so I enjoyed it by myself. At the bus stop in front of the ryokan, there was also an express bus to Shinjuku. If you use it at the right time, it seems very convenient for tourists with a lot of luggage, but if you take a regular mountaineering bus to Hakone-Yumoto Station during the peak season, the bus may be very crowded as there are a lot of tourists with luggage on the bus. But overall it was very good and it was a ryokan I would recommend!

I booked this place for the sulphur hot springs. I have an obsession with sulphur hot springs. Otherwise, I will not book this place again.

Although it is convenient to have a bus stop right at the door, in an unfamiliar environment and a completely different bus system, people will worry about the last bus. And there is no place to eat around, so you have to eat in hotels or convenience stores.
