I stayed here for two months (October to December) and loved it! You just know when you get a 'work smile' or when it's genuine, here, all the time everyone is genuine. I honestly believe everyone loves working here and it shows. Nothing is ever a problem. I rarely eat in hotels, but the food here is exceptional. My two favourites were the full breakfasts and the Thukpa, which is the best I had anywhere. Rooms are all to the same very high standard and are regularly decorated. I was in room 701 but looked around many others when I could. One thing that REALLY stood out for me, is that all the light switches and power sockets are exactly where you need them. AND all the sockets are universal, so whatever plug you have it's likely to fit. Perfect! But so rare in hotels. A lot of common-sense thought's gone into the design of this place. I see on the reviews someone mentioned it's in 'a remote dark alley'. It's actually in a well-lit side street right in the heart of thamel, but very peaceful. I'm a very light sleeper, had no problem. Good soundproofing. Shower is good quality 'drench shower head', TV has plenty of English-speaking channels, wifi is excellent everywhere, aircon is efficient and almost silent, fabulous mattress, very good bed linen, good lift, and the view from the restaurant is stunning, on clear days see the snowcaps to the north. And, while I shouldn't pick anyone out, two people who are exceptional are Muskan on reception (what an amazing person, were I not retired I'd employ her tomorrow) and Utsab in the restaurant, and of course the chef......but honestly, everyone. Thanks. I genuinely didn't feel as I was in a hotel but with friends. Thank you all for making me so welcome. See you all next year! Thank you
