Very courteous front desk people. Most of them spoke English. The room was mostly comfortable. The bathroom was a little cramped, but this seems to be the norm in this area. They allowed us to leave our bags in the front desk area for a few hours. The breakfast was pretty amazing.

Beautiful clean and modern rooms, finished to perfection! The receptionists were very helpful with everything I.e early check in, booking tours, airport taxi’s and general advice Also in a fantastic location. 15 minute walk to a Laguna and 10 minute walk into the main town. Highly recommend this place to anyone - couples, families or groups! Exactly what we needed for a few days here ☺️

This is an average place. It’s not bad but not good either. The Wi-Fi was worthless, took us an hour to book a stay at our next destination because it kept dropping us or stalling. Others at the hotel indicated the same experience. Security is very lacking here. The management requires that you leave the key if you are leaving the building. However, the process of retrieving or leaving your key is simply to do it yourself with no staff verifying that the correct key is taken. Cleanliness at breakfast is also lacking. The staff wear latex gloves. But these are only to protect their hands, not your food. I say this because the staff wear the gloves while they prepare food, handle luggage, or pet the neighborhood cat or dog that comes to visit - all with the same gloves. Besides these complaints, the rooms are comfortable and the staff are helpful and nice. I preferred other places in town but in a pinch, this place is workable.

Chalten Suites in the centre of El Chalten is more of an upmarket hotel more for people seeking comfort than just a place to throw a sleeping bag onto the floor. The rooms are quaint and spacious enough and the bathroom is fine. Water pressure in the shower is satisfactory. The bed is comfortable and the heating works as it should in such a cold place. The included breakfasts were excellent, especially to charge your body up for a long hike. The staff are extremely helpful and do go out of their way to try to ensure your stay goes well. They will organise shuttles to walks and offer advice for those unfamiliar with the local attractions. When the lovely receptionist mentions a shorter walk to Laguna Capri, ignore that and go with the longer walk option (see review on Chalten walks). There are only a few negatives for the hotel. Top of the list is the poor Wi-Fi, which is annoyingly unreliable. However, that could be a location problem for the whole town. That said, in all my weeks of travel throughout South America, this is the only place with bad Wi-Fi. Next is the cheap toilet paper, a silly thing really as it is so unnecessary. Especially when you have to use twice as much for the same job. Lastly, the restaurant in the hotel is limited. It has a nice ambience and good views but the menu is limited and lacking in national dishes. I paid $US200 per night and stayed 3 nights. For that fee, one would expect better internet. Overall, there aren’t many flash hotels in El Chalten and Chalten Suites does provide a necessary service for tourists rather than adventurers. Excellent location, very close to the main avenue where all the restaurants, shops, coffees, bars are located. Staff was very very friendly and helpful. In my opinion the breakfast could offer more fruits, honey and eggs. And the checkout time could be later…. 10:00AM is too early for a checkout.

Destino sur The location of this hotel is perfect. It’s really close to the start of the trailhead for the Laguna Del los Tres hike. We found that there weren’t very many nice hotel options in El Chalten so this was a good choice. The breakfast was great with lots of options to fuel yourself ahead of a long day of hiking. One disappointing part of the hotel was the Spa area. The pool was not very clean and the Fitness suite was seemed like it was just a bit of a tick box to get their stars. It was an incredibly small room with only cardio equipment; when you’re in one of the best locations for hiking in the world the last thing you’re gonna want to do in a hotel gym is cardio- would suggest replacing the Treadmill with some weights And stretching equipment instead.

The hotel breakfast is typical Western style, and the variety is OK. The service staff is really good and very friendly. Especially the young guy is very patient, help me book miniterrking and answer various questions. The hotel is located on the edge of the town and is very quiet. It takes about five minutes to walk to the landmark and 10 minutes to the center of the town. The penultimate photo is basically the center, with a toilet. It takes about 30 minutes to walk to the Argentine lake.

A great location hotel ( 4 minutes to bus station and 15 min walk to downtown) with a very basic , yet clean room. The room size was ok with lots of luggage storage , but no place to sit. No coffee or tea station. No microwave ( which was Ok for us) , but have a mini fridge. It seems like it’s a new hotel. A very big dining area attached to the reception. The front desk, “ Adrianna” was wonderful, very welcoming and eager to help. The reception desk is NOT 24/7 so if you fly out early in Am, please let them know. No elevator, but flight of stairs. Very bright and clean hotel. We mainly used it to sleep as we were on tours and hikes while we were there. A 15 min walk takes you to the city center full of restaurants and tourist traps!

The location is very nice. It is just a few squares from the center, but the views all worth. Although to reach the center walking down is heavy, the wearing is even more. But considering you down once a day there is no problem. The hotel is very friendly and comfortable. We stayed several hours in the chairs waiting for the transport to return and super comfortable What is all to mention but it's all the calafate, is that hotels let you check in at 14 and the flight arrives at 7am. All these hours are Tremenda. We used to take advantage and we went on the same day of excursion on the ice. But bear in mind. Because the return is to sleep

Hotel with good facilities, comfortable beds, large room and spacious bathroom as well as good heating and hot water. On the downside, there is only Wi-Fi in the breakfast and reception area and, taking into account that there is hardly any coverage in the whole town, it is very inconvenient not to be able to connect in the room and having to do it alone from there. I would also like to point out that, except for the girl who is at reception in the afternoon, who is lovely, the rest were quite rude. For the rest, everything was perfect.

We are incredibly happy with our 5nights stay at Poincenot! I had forgotten that we booked a twin bedroom so at check in, I was asking if they have a room with double beds instead, without really hoping for too much. The lady at reception actually went above and beyond, walked up and down & checked a few rooms for us, although in the end we needed to take the twin room which was fine. Breakfast was great everyday, not too much option but can get your morning going for sure. What I loved most was the housekeeping! They turned our bed down daily, kept our room nice and clean which was a joy to come back to after a long day hike. We put the twin beds together and the next day when we returned, they made it a double bed by adding some extra mattress, what a star! I would highly recommend this place - though it’s a bit of a walk from the bus station but you will be surrounded by restaurants and shops anyway.

This hotel was very clean and nicely decorated to make it welcoming and cozy. The front desk personal were very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. The breakfast consisted of sweet breads, jams, cereals, yoghurt, multi grain bread and hard boiled eggs. It was quite enjoyable and filling. The mattresses were very comfortable also. We made a great choice in selecting this hotel.

Clean newer place across the street from the Laguna Torre trailhead and a 12 minute walk to the Fitz Ray trailhead. Someone gave some thought to what hikers want when traveling. There are lots of plugins for electrical devices near the bed, in the kitchen, in the shelving in the hallway. The receptors accept European, US, and Argentina plugs. There is a microwave, toaster, stove top, and fridge. The rooms are large with good light and air flow. The beds are good. There is a rainfall shower. The towels are high quality. There is a heated towel dryer. There is free parking near the rooms. It is easy to walk to any store or restaurant in town. Consider booking a bus through the hotel if you do not have a car.
