Al Roker

Born in 1954, Al Roker (full name Albert Lincoln Roker Jr.) got his start as an NBC weatherman at the Cleveland, Ohio, affiliate WKYC in 1978. After he graduated from State University of New York at Oswego, he booked more TV news jobs in Cleveland and Washington, D.C., before eventually joining NBC’s Today in 1996. He has remained on Today ever since as a weatherman and cohost of the show’s third hour.

In addition to his longtime small screen gig, Roker has also appeared in a number of TV shows and movies over the years, including Seinfeld, Will & Grace, The Simpsons, 30 Rock, Billions and the Sharknado film series.

Roker wed Alice Bell in 1984, three years after which they welcomed their daughter, Courtney. The pair split in 1994 and Roker went on to marry his wife, Deborah Roberts, one year later. The spouses share daughter Leila, born in 1998, and son Nick, born in 2002. Roker became a grandfather with the birth of Courtney’s daughter, Sky, whom she shares with her husband, Wesley Laga.
