Jillian Michaels
After struggling with her weight as a child, Jillian Michaels decided that she wanted to help others by becoming a personal trainer and life coach.
Born February 18, 1974, Michaels first graced TV screens as a trainer on NBC’s weight loss reality competition show The Biggest Loser in 2005. In 2010, she received her own spinoff, Losing It With Jillian, where she helped families lose weight in one week. She returned to The Biggest Loser in 2012.
In addition to her television appearances, Michaels is also a New York Times bestselling author, the star of fitness DVDs and video games for Nintendo Wii. She also released a diet pill, Jillian Michaels Maximum Strength Calorie Control, which was sold at GNC stores. Shortly after the pill’s release, a lawsuit was filed against Michaels that claimed the pills used false advertising, but she denied the claims.
Michaels and her ex-fiancée, Heidi Rhoades, are the parents of daughter Lukensia, who was adopted at age 2 from Haiti in May 2012. Later that month, Rhoades gave birth to son Phoenix. The parents split in 2018 after nearly nine years together.
In November 2021, the Fitness App founder announced her engagement to DeShanna Marie Minuto after two years of dating. They tied the knot the following year.
