John Krasinski
A native of Massachusetts, like his Office mates Steve Carell and B.J. Novak, John Krasinski graduated from Brown University before being accepted into the National Theater Institute. Prior to clocking in at Dunder Mifflin in 2004, Krasinski interned for Late Night With Conan O’Brien in 2000.
After landing mainstream TV success in the mid 2000s, the actor began appearing in several major films like Jarhead (2005), For Your Consideration (2006), Dreamgirls (2006) and George Clooney’s directorial debut, Leatherheads (2008).
Krasinski went on to produce and star as the title character in the Amazon Prime series Jack Ryan from 2018-2022, cementing his bona fides as an action hero. He then joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Reed Richards for 2022’s Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness.
The Detroit actor made his directorial debut in 2009 with Brief Interviews With Hideous Men based on David Foster Wallace’s short stories collection. He went on to direct the family dramedy The Hollars in 2016 and found box office success with the horror films A Quiet Place (2019) and A Quiet Place Part II (2020), which he co-wrote and directed. The writer-director reunited with Carrell for the family movie, IF, which was released in May 2024.
In 2008, Krasinski met actress Emily Blunt via a mutual friend and the pair immediately hit it off. After getting engaged about a year after they began dating, the couple wed in a private, outdoor ceremony held at the Villa D’este in Como, Italy, in July 2010. The couple welcomed daughters Hazel in February 2014 and Violet in June 2016.
