Judi Dench was born on December 9, 1934 in North Yorkshire, England, and is one of the most prolific actresses of the century.
In the past 10 years alone, the prolific Dench has been featured in more than 20 films, including Chocolat, The Chronicles of Riddick and Mrs Henderson Presents.
BBC television audiences remember Dench for her 13 years on the sitcom As Time Goes By.
The Oscar-winning actress has had 53 award nominations during her nearly 50 years on the silver screen.
Dench was married to actor Michael Williams from 1971 until his death in 2001. The couple has one daughter.
