Last year, IFC ordered a musical sketch-comedy show to series from Late Night With Jimmy Fallon alums Bashir Salahuddin and Diallo Riddle titled Sherman’s Showcase, and now it has a premiere date and star-studded trailer. Inspired by classic shows like Soul Train, American Bandstand, The Midnight Special, and In Living Color, Sherman’s Showcase is hosted by Salahuddin in character as Sherman McDaniel, who “takes viewers through time via music and comedy drawn from the forty-year library of a legendary (but fictional) musical variety show.” Tons of guest stars are slated to show up throughout the series, including executive producer John Legend, Tiffany Haddish, Common, Quincy Jones, Marlon Wayans, Ne-Yo, Lil Rel Howery, Tawny Newsome, Mike Judge, and the Lucas Brothers, to name just a few.
