Three clubs in League One are reportedly eyeing a move for Cardiff City youngster Joel Colwill - providing he's recalled from his loan spell at Cheltenham Town this month.

Colwill has been in impressive form for the Robins in League Two, scoring nine goals and racking up three assists in all competitions this season.

It's a run of form that, combined with Cardiff's precarious league position, has sparked talk of a recall, although there's every chance he could go back out on loan at a higher level. Sign up to our daily Cardiff City newsletter here.

According to Football League World, Bolton Wanderers, Bristol Rovers and Exeter City are all keeping tabs on the 20-year-old.

City boss Omer Riza recently said: "Joel's doing excellently, he's a great player, he's doing really well in League Two.

"He's one of our players that we hold in high regard. Whether he comes back in the building for January is a conversation we need to have.

"For me, I've already stated I think that he could do with stepping up to another level, but I upset the manager at Cheltenham with that last week, so I apologise for that.

"But it's just what we need to do for our players to give them the potential to kick on and have good careers."

One man who has returned to the capital is Josh Beecher.

The 18-year-old left-back has been on loan at JD Cymru Premier side Barry Town United this season, but is now set to return to the Bluebirds.

In a short statement on social media, Barry said: "On the expiration of his loan Josh Beecher has today returned to parent club Cardiff City.

"Thank you Josh for your time with us, we wish you the very best of luck with your future Cardiff City career. It's been a pleasure to have you at our club."
