The App Store also has added a section for Apple Pay apps here. Let us know in the comments where you use Apple Pay.

Gonna have to do better than that or Apple Pay will limp along for quite a long time
I know that the longer the list the better but it’s a pretty decent list so far.
ApplePay will also work with any merchant who currently accepts NFC payments. Those may not be on Apple’s official list, so it’s actually a much broader list that what is being shown here.
hardest market will be brick and mortar shops, some still don’t even take credit cards!!
BJ’s, Chevron, and Walgreens alone are a win for middle class families! = WIN!
This list is basically strip malls and 5 other stores. Its a massive Fail for middle class families right now. Unless Walmart, Best Buy, and either Publix Kroger or Winn Dixie get on the list Middle Class will use this feature once a month.
Used Apple Pay at Winn Dixie today. Winning
United Supermarkets is a relatively small chain that serves north central Texas and the Texas panhandle, and they’ve had Apple Pay almost since the unveiling. Kudos to the decision makers at United!
I would say that Apple is doing very well. Add to this list all of financial institutions and NFC places and the list grows every week. What would you have them do in this short time? Has anyone else even come close to this success?
Ummm, unless Walmart gets on board Apple Pay will never replace wallets. Middle America shops at Walmart for EVERYTHING it will be a novelty unless Walmart gets on board. Point Blank Period. I use Apple Pay but I can’t rely on it as a wallet replacement until every day stores join. People dont shop at Foot Locker but twice a year. Big stinking deal, Maybe you feel twice a year stores are good enough for you but it isnt for me.
@chrisl84 Lol the fact you still go to Walmart is astounding.
LOL. Walmart? Are you kidding? Most of the middle america that I know would never step foot in Walmart unless it was an emergency or there were NO other options.
Now all we need is Macbooks and Airs to have TouchID so we can use it with ApplePay on websites that support it (or within OS X Apps)
Or Apple could just keep it on their portable devices to increase sales…
Or your iOS device can verify its you with touchID and pass the verification to the mac for the purchase. They are after all connected via bluetooth LE.
I expect that the Touch ID on your iPhone or iPad will do the same thing through Continuity eventually, so there doesn’t have to be a Touch ID scanner on the MacBook.
What i really want to know is when will this come to Canada & work with Rogers SureTap Wallet. I have the nano NFC sim card but want to use it. Also i would love if Apple Pay comes to Canada. Alot i mean alot of stores here use NFC based terminals. Used my old S5 with Suretap & paid with it many times. Now that i have the 6+, i want to be able to use it.
A 2013 Venturebeat article, citing Juniper Research, illustrated the difference between the U.S. and the rest of the planet for contactless payments.
“In the U.S., it is thought that no more than 2 percent of retailers offer contactless POS terminals: the ratio of contactless cards in issue to terminals is around 600 to 1,” Juniper research says. “This compares with ratios of around 200:1 in the UK, 70:1 in Poland, 50:1 in France and 15:1 in Spain.”
In February 2014, Rogers Communications VP David Robinson explained a stark contrast, as noted in the lede of this Venturebeat article.
“In Canada, 75 percent of major retailers accept contactless payment. In the U.S., fewer than 2 percent of retailers do the same,” Venturebeat wrote.
“Ten percent of domestic transactions are contactless … and that’s going up about 1 percent a month,” Robinson explained.
i work at a regal cinemas and i think it’ll be cool to use this, hopefully we get it
LMAO @ Radio Shack
Chevron! that made my day right there
Wegmans is on the list. The best supermarket I have ever seen. And as others have said, any NFC terminal though not official “partners” yet. Having had 2 new debit cards thanks to Target and Home Depot data breaches, I am looking forward to it. Kind of the deciding factor for me to get a new iPhone 6. Apple has been running their own stores with their own retail system for years. Why? First because they could do it better than the old clunky tech everyone uses and 2. Because they learned all the intricacies of payment processing so they could build a real and secure payment system. IMHO. Let’s see how it goes before counting it as success or failure. I remember in July retailers being all jaded and bored about the iPhone 6. Now they can’t find enough of them.
Does Apple Pay work with Target’s Redcard or Macy’s cards?
Costco has to be the next big player. Middle America shops at Costco as does the 1%. They cater to all. I have 3 vehicles and fill them up once a week or so exclusively at Costco…best price always…I travel a lot throughout the SW and always look for Costco, Wholefoods, and Marriot. At home Sprouts, Walgreens…so Apple pay is a nice addition for me already.
Although not on the official list, tested Apple Pay at a CVS/Pharmacy and it worked like a charm.
Which one of these apps do you think is the most time saving? I really like a few of them, and personally use, sprig and shyp but in terms of convenience and actual hours regained, it’s definitely Washio. Prices are reasonable and there’s a 24 hour turnaround on all dry cleaning and laundry orders. Plus they give you a cookie. It literally saves me 3 plus hours a week between, washing, drying and folding. Get $10 off with the code DAPPER10.
I noticed Zara had nfc terminals in their store and I used Apple Pay there.
It works at Home Depot for Chase Visa cards, but using a Citibank MasterCard shows first “Done” then “Declined”. Weird. The physical Citibank MasterCard works fine.
Subway doesn’t actually support it near the Chicago area
Oddly enough, a few Subways inside Walmart do support it. I asked a manager why some [Chicago] subways support it and others don’t? He said, they should all be rolling them out, but its at the will of that particular store owner when they will get off their butts and update their terminals.
Appalachian Outfitters here in Greenville, SC just got Apple Pay
The Harris Teeter grocery store chain was on one of the original lists of merchants accepting Apple Pay, but seems to fallen off lately for some reason. Not sure why, becuase I use it there everty week.
The GoodWill stores I’ve been to accept Apple Pay, though they didn’t know it.
The Gyft app for Gift Cards works with Apple Pay. Use it to leverage Apple Pay to merchants who don’t support it.
The Mobile Pay Finder & Nearby Apps plus the gosoftcard.com website are also good for finding Apple Pay sites with Mobile Pay Finder (Free) being my personal favorite.
I have also heard the Delectable app works for wine purchases with Apple Pay.
I got a note from Trader Joe’s today stating EXPLICITLY, “Thank you for your email. At this time there are no plans to accept Apple Pay in our stores.”
That kinda sux….
My local trader store just got new card machines that have apple logos all over it!!! Works great!
Is that list just of the retailers that say they support it? There are many more big chains that have accepted nfc before apple pay that still do. Homedepot is huge and accept apple pay(example) and is not on the list.
Home Depot and BP gas should be included. I use an app called Mastercard Nearby which shows a list of merchant locations that have NFC. The list is definitely more than that.
Yep I used it at Home Depot last night. Also Goodwill should be included on the list.
Delta iPhone app also has apply pay.
