Incipio announces Trestle iPhone 6 Plus case to ‘Defend against the bend’

Incipio is showing off its latest at CES this week and one new product that we just got a first look at is its new Trestle case for iPhone 6 Plus. The company is taking full advantage of the controversy over rare instances of the iPhone 6 Plus bending under pressure and incorporating the “Defend against the bend” slogan into the product’s marketing.

We’re not too sure that Apple will be all that pleased that a popular case manufacturer is playing into the bending controversy, but perhaps it will work for Incipio when customers worried about bending see the branding in stores.

Incipio says the new Trestle case for iPhone 6 is a reinforced protective case “constructed with two metal rods on either edge of the device for sturdy protection against bending in constricted environments. Co-molded with a rigid TPU bumper and protective hard shell, it maintains a sleek profile for everyday use and drop protection. “

The case will be available in the coming weeks through Incipio’s website for $40 in Black, Black/Frost, and Pink/Frost alongside other offerings for the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus.

I’m sure Apple won’t sell these cases at their retail or online stores. Apple hates (and I believe they have a right to hate) from these kind of things. Also i think Apple also won’t sell any accessory of Incipio or from now on, they will stop to sell if they have one of them.

Funny how their French slogan is a literal Google translation. . . it reads as “protect against the corner (as in the bends of a swirling road..)” It just doesn’t mean anything in French. They may have a super strong iPhone 6 case but their marketing people are pretty weak.

LAME…It is not even an issue.

  4. Before Incipio names cases based on a so-called “defect” of another product, they should take a deeper look at their own. I used to be a big fan of Incipio cases, recommending them to everyone, but their rubberized coatings had very poor durability, quickly wearing off, leaving behind a sticky tactile residue.
