What happens if you miss to claim Input Tax Credit ? The Federal Tax Authority (FTA) of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has issued guidance on the timeframe for recovering input tax under the Value Added Tax (VAT) system. According to Article 55(1) of the VAT Law, a taxable person must recover input tax in the first tax period in which two conditions are met: Receipt of the Tax Invoice: The taxable person has received the tax invoice for the supply. Intention to Make Payment: The taxable person intends to pay the consideration for the supply within six months after the agreed payment date. If these conditions are not satisfied in the same tax period, the input tax can be recovered in the subsequent tax period when both conditions are met. Failure to recover input tax within these periods necessitates the submission of a voluntary disclosure to amend the relevant VAT return. Additionally, if the taxable person does not pay the consideration within six months after the agreed payment date, they must reduce the input tax claimed in the VAT return for the following tax period. Once payment is made, the taxable person is entitled to reclaim the input tax. www.adzumacacemy.com #InputTaxCredit #VATUAE #TaxCompliance #UAEFinance #AccountingTips #TaxPlanning #SmallBusinessUAE #AdzumGlobal #FinanceSimplified #Adzumacademy
